FAQ

What happens during the first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We will explore what brings you to therapy, what you are hoping to work on, and what feels important to you right now.

Is the systemic approach right for me?

Systemic therapy approach, deriving from the Family Therapy approach, can be helpful for a wide range of symptoms and issues, namely relationship difficulties, family conflict, depression and low mood, identity, anxiety, life transitions (divorce, relocation, loss), self-esteem, and parenting challenges. Whether you are looking for individual, couples, or family sessions, this approach adapts to your unique situation and goals.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No referral is needed. All sessions are private pay, which means you can reach out and book directly. No waiting lists.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not work directly with insurance providers. All sessions are private pay, and payment is required before your appointment.

What languages do you offer sessions in?

Sessions are available in English and in Greek.

How many session will I need?

This varies from person to person based on their goals and needs. Some people find a few sessions helpful, while others prefer longer-term work. We will reflect together on how things are going and adjust as needed.

Is everything I share kept confidential?

As psychologists, we are bound by professional secrecy (beroepsgeheim) in accordance with Dutch law. Everything you share during sessions is strictly confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties without your explicit consent.
Exceptions apply only in the following circumstances:
There is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others.
We are legally required to disclose information. In such cases, we will always aim to discuss this with you openly and transparently beforehand.

What do you work with?

A few things we could help you with are the following:

Anxiety and stress: when worry feels persistent, overwhelming, or hard to switch off, we explore what is driving it and how to relate to it differently.
Depression and low mood: when life feels flat, heavy, or directionless, we work to understand what lies beneath and what might slowly shift it.
Relationship difficulties: whether with a partner, family member, friend, or colleague, we look at the patterns that keep showing up and what they might be telling you.
Life transitions and identity: moments of change; a new role, a loss, a crossroads can shake our sense of who we are. Therapy provides a space to find your footing again
Self-worth and confidence: when the voice inside is harsh or critical, we explore where it comes from and how to build a kinder, more grounded relationship with yourself.
Emotional regulation: when feelings arrive too fast, too intensely, or feel impossible to access, we work together to develop a greater sense of inner steadiness and choice.

How do I know if group sessions are the right fit for me?

Choosing between individual and group sessions is less about one being better than the other and more about what you are looking for right now.

Individual sessions offer privacy and depth: a space to focus closely on your inner world without the presence of others.
Group sessions tend to be particularly valuable if your struggles are relational. If loneliness, difficulty connecting, or patterns in relationships are central to what brings you here, the group offers something individual therapy cannot: the experience of being in relation with others in real time, being seen, and seeing yourself through their eyes.

If you are unsure, a free consultation is the best place to start. Together we can explore what feels right for where you are now.
